Morley Motorsports of Elk Grove moves to Fourth in the Points
Elk Grove, California (September 1, 2000) - Morley Motorsports is a family owned and operated SCCA (San Francisco Region) Formula Ford (Spec Ford class) race team out of Elk Grove, Ca.,featuring Bob Morley as driver. The Morley's have been residents of Elk Grove for 14 years, with wife Peggy serving as Crew Chief and daughter Christina helping out at the track as her schedule allows. They started the Race Team in 1997 and followed up by finishing third in the championship, their Rookie year.
Morley Motorsports will be looking to take the #49 T-COMM Formula Ford to a strong finish in the next race at Sears Point Raceway in Sonoma on September 23rd & 24th. The weekend of August 26th & 27th produced two podium finishes for the race team, also at Sears Point. A strong third place in the morning's feature race was followed up by another third place showing in the afternoon event. The outstanding finishes vaulted the team into fourth place in the Season Point Championship, even though they missed the first race of the year while they attended daughter Christina's State Cup soccer tournament in Morgan Hill, Ca. (with the Elk Grove 'Flash', an U-18 girls competitive soccer team from the Elk Grove United Soccer Club)
Morley Motorsports previously announced on May 4th,2000 that TCOMM (T Communications), a Northern California interconnect company that specializes in the design, installation and maintenance of data communications cabling and associated infrastructure, had agreed to a eight-race deal as Primary sponsor of the team for the 2000 season.
